This Privacy Policy explains how we ("Chartmath", "we", "us", or "our") collect, uses, and safeguards information when you use our stock screening and strategy products, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password hashes (if you do not use a third-party login). If you register with a third-party service like Google, we collect the identifiers necessary for authentication. We assign a unique ID to your account to manage settings and preferences.
- User-Generated Content. We collect the information you generate while using the Services, such as the screens you run, strategies you build and backtest, watchlists you create, and alerts you configure.
- Analytics and Usage Data. We collect data about how you interact with the Services. This includes features you use, actions you take, error logs, and performance data. We use a mix of our own and third-party analytics tools for this purpose, as detailed in Section 4.
- Device and Technical Information. We collect your device model, operating system, browser/app version, IP address, language and region settings, and other diagnostic data to help us troubleshoot issues and improve the Services.
- Communications. We collect information when you contact us for support, provide feedback, or respond to surveys.
- Push Notification Data. If you enable push notifications, we collect and store your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, device platform, and device identifier. This data is used solely to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Email and Contact Data. We collect and store your email address for account management and to send you transactional and marketing communications. We also track email delivery status (such as bounces and complaints) to maintain a healthy email program and ensure deliverability.
- Notification Preferences. We store your notification and email category preferences so we can respect your choices about what communications you receive.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide and Maintain the Services. To authenticate you, manage your account, and sync your configurations across devices.
- To Improve and Personalize the Services. To understand usage patterns, personalize content, and develop new features.
- For Security and Fraud Prevention. To protect the integrity of our Services, prevent abuse, and investigate potential violations of our terms.
- To Communicate With You. To send you transactional messages (like security alerts), product updates, and information about new features. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- To Comply with Legal Obligations. To enforce our Terms of Use and meet our legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Age Limitation
The Services are not intended for or directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.
4. Analytics and Tracking Technologies
We use first-party and third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Services. These tools collect information sent by your device or our Services, including the pages you visit and other information that assists us in improving the Service. This data is aggregated and anonymized so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual user. We do not sell this information. Under some legal definitions, sharing data with analytics providers may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of data. You can learn about your right to opt out in Section 10.
5. Push Notifications
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications to your mobile device. When you grant notification permission, we collect and store a device token that uniquely identifies your device for push delivery.
Types of push notifications we may send:
- Alert Triggers. Notifications when a stock enters or exits a screen you are tracking.
- Screen Matches. Updates when new instruments match your configured screens.
- Watchlist Updates. Changes or activity related to stocks on your watchlist.
- Discover Signals. New or noteworthy discoveries surfaced by our screening engine.
- Marketing and Engagement. Occasional messages about new features, tips, or promotions. You can opt out of these at any time.
Your controls:
- You can manage notification preferences within the app settings to choose which types of notifications you receive.
- You can disable push notifications entirely at the operating system level (iOS Settings or Android Settings).
- When you log out or delete your account, your FCM device token is deleted from our systems.
6. Email Communications
We send emails to the address associated with your account using Resend as our email delivery provider. We send the following categories of email:
- Marketing. Promotions, feature announcements, and special offers.
- Educational. Tutorials, tips, and guides to help you get the most out of ChartMath.
- Product Updates. Release notes, new features, and important service changes.
- Research. Market insights, screen analysis, and data-driven content.
Your controls:
- Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link specific to that email category. You can unsubscribe from any category independently without affecting the others.
- You can also manage all email preferences from within the app settings.
- Unsubscribe requests are honored immediately. You may still receive essential transactional emails (such as password resets, security alerts, and account-related notices) even after unsubscribing from marketing categories.
Email deliverability: We track email delivery status, bounces, and spam complaints to maintain a healthy sending reputation and to stop sending to invalid addresses. We do not sell your email address to third parties.
We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. All commercial emails include our physical mailing address, a clear identification of the message as an advertisement (where applicable), and a functioning unsubscribe mechanism.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting (U.S.-based), authentication, analytics, and customer support. These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services we request.
- Legal and Safety Reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our users, or the public.
- Corporate Events. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to confidentiality obligations.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services. You can delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we will remove your personal information, though we may retain limited, anonymized, or aggregated data for analytical purposes and certain records for legal or security reasons (e.g., fraud-prevention logs).

9. International Data Transfers
Our services are targeted to users in the United States. Your information is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. Our company is headquartered in India, and access to data by our international personnel is strictly controlled and subject to robust data protection safeguards.
10. Your U.S. Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of a U.S. state with applicable privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, or Virginia), you have certain rights regarding your personal information. These rights may include:
- The Right to Know. You have the right to request details about the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- The Right to Delete. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- The Right to Opt-Out of "Sale" or "Sharing". You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. As noted above, while we do not sell your data for money, the use of third-party analytics may be considered "sharing" under the law.

11. Security
We implement robust security measures, such as encryption in transit, access controls, and credential hashing, to protect your information. However, no system is infallible, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be highlighted through the Services or by email. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
